Betty Louise Young

Betty Louise (Kenney) Young, 90, of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born in New Hampton, NH on September 3, 1933, a daughter of the late Marshall and Carrie (Mudgett) Kenney.  She grew up in New Boston and graduated from New Boston High School with the class of 1951.

Betty is survived by her husband of 70 years, Kenneth Young, and her son, Andrew Young of Freeman Township, ME, and her daughters Sandra and husband Ken Fongeallaz of Londonderry, and Debra and husband Glen Bolser of Bedford, nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by sons Michael Young in 2017 and Thomas Young in 2024.  She was also predeceased by three sisters, Rosalie, Dorothy and Lucille.

During her lifetime she was employed with New Hampshire Insurance in Manchester, where she met her loving husband.  She also enjoyed working as an Avon Lady for many years.

Her love of sewing, lead her to volunteer to co-run the St. Jude Parish Craft group for the annual Country Christmas Craft Fair for over 30 years.  She also loved traveling and was fortunate enough to take many vacations with family and friends.  She loved spending time with family and hosting all the many family and holiday celebrations.  She especially loved everything about Christmas, making it a beautiful time for all.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held Monday, August 12, 2024, from 4 to 7pm, at the Durning, Bykowski and Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester St., Manchester, NH 03103.  Mass will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 10:00am at St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH 03053.  The burial will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at New Boston Cemetery, New Boston, NH at 11:00am.
