Doris Pierce

June 18, 1928 — November 9, 2023

Doris Woroniak Pierce, 95, of Proctor Road, Manchester, died peacefully on November 9, 2023. She was born on June 18, 1928, the eldest of four children, and only daughter, of Adam and Catherine (Jarosz) Woroniak. She grew up in Manchester and graduated from Central High School in 1946. Doris was a long-time employee in the loan department of Amoskeag Savings Bank.

She married Roger Arnold Pierce on October 19, 1968. They lived in a beautiful home in Hooksett with their beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Tasha, where they hosted a much anticipated annual family Christmas Eve party. They also spent time at their cozy camp on the pond in Hopkinton where they welcomed family and friends for many summer gatherings. Doris and Roger were happily married for 29 years until he passed on December 26, 1997.

Doris was a long-time parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church and past President of Myrrh-Bearing Woman Sister of Saints. She was also a past member of the National Association of Business Women. She had a very active retirement, spending winters in Leesburg, Florida, and partaking in many adventures year-round with various senior groups.
Doris is lovingly remembered for her generous heart, bountiful garden, wonderful cooking, and beautiful voice which graced many church services.

She was predeceased by her parents, Adam and Catherine, her husband Roger, and her brothers, Alfred and John Woroniak. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Woroniak, and his children Michael Woroniak and Michelle Ham; her stepdaughter, Ronda A. Wilson; stepson, Roger A. Pierce, II; and many cousins, step-grandchildren, great nephews, and nieces. She will also be missed by close neighbors and fellow church members she considered family.
