Joseph Albert Kalisz Jr

Joseph Albert Kalisz Jr, 79, of Manchester died on January 3, 2022, unexpectedly at Elliot Hospital. Joseph was born in Manchester on November 27, 1942, the son of Joseph Albert Kalisz Sr and Mary (Bielawa) Myslivy.

Joseph grew up and attended local schools and graduated from Manchester Central High School. He served his country as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force and later retired from the United States Nation Guard. He was a devout member of Saint Hedwig Parish in Manchester, as well as a member of the Legion of 1,000 Men, Sweeney Post #2, the Saint Joseph Society and a proud Green Bay Packers share holder.

Known as Bulldog by his friends and coworkers, Joseph spent most of his time at JFK Memorial Coliseum working the Zamboni and entertaining the crowd while wearing his “Cheese Head”. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren, being fondly know by them and their friends as Dziadziu. He will be deeply missed by all who know him.

Joseph is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Kalisz) Langley and her husband Paul of Boston, and Wendy (Kalisz) Hudson and her husband Geoffrey of Manchester. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Jack and Abigail Hudson both of Manchester, his sister Phyllis Kozlowski of Manchester, brother Walter Kalisz and his wife Dian of Manchester, his beloved cat Zeva as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Karen Ann Kalisz (Vernelli) and his granddaughter Brook Hudson.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Durning , Bykowski and Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester St, Manchester, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM, at St. Hedwig Parish, 147 Walnut Street, Manchester, NH.
