Kenneth J Kustra, 80, passed away peacefully after a lingering illness at the Premier Nursing and Rehab center in Nashua. The son of John and Stella Kustra, Ken was raised in Manchester NH. He attended catholic School and was a proud member of the Catholic boys High School football and baseball teams. Later attending New England College and UNH to study business and math.
He was a resident of Manchester and Candia for many years. His career was varied but built around service. He worked as an aid for Gov Meldrim Thompson for many years and also Served as a sheriff, police officer, teacher and car salesmen in and aroundManchester.
He was committed to helping and serving others in his community.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was often heard regaling friends and family with tales of the woods and lakes of NH and Maine. A lifelong fan of the Patriots and Celtics, he rarely missed a game on TV. Settling in Sunday afternoons with his partner Barbara Jacobs and family to eat and root the team on.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, brother Dr. John Kustra,son Kenneth jr and his partner of many years Tina Churchill. He is survived by His sister Lois Jeannotte, his three daughters (Kim Baez, Karen Lacerte and Katie Trepanier). His many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are at the Durning and Bykowski funeral home located at: 285 Manchester Street, Manchester, NH. The hoursare 5pm to 7pm Tuesday April 16th.
