Madeline Ann Blidberg, 82, died peacefully on December 14, 2021 at Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center in Manchester, NH. Madeline was born in Manchester and was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1957. She attended Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing in Hanover NH where she received her RN and Boston University where she received her BSN.  She later attended the Frontier School of Nursing in KY and became a midwife.  She joined the Army and was a Viet Nam War veteran and also served in Germany and several places in the United States.

She retired from the Army Reserves as a Lt. Colonel. She was a Labor and Delivery room nurse at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester for more than 35 years. Madeline was a private pilot and was licensed in both single and twin engine aircraft.

She is predeceased by her parents Einar W. Blidberg and Edith (Dennis) Blidberg of Manchester and her brother, D. Richard Blidberg of Lee, NH.

She leaves behind her nephew Scott R. Blidberg, his wife Rachel and their two sons of Portsmouth, NH, her sister-in-law Bunny (Blidberg) Coletti of Lee, NH and several cousins. She was a lifelong member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Manchester, NH.

A graveside service and burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester on 3/11/22 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Compassion International, an organization that was very dear to Madeline. To make a donation, please send a check to Compassion International, Colorado Springs, CO 80997 (no street address required) and include a note indicating that it is in memory of Madeline Blidberg.
