Marie Colby

Marie Colby (Morra) of Bedford, 75, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her beloved daughter and best friend, Lisa Turski, Lisa’s partner Michael Murphy, her adored grandson, Todd (TJ) Turski, and the love of her life, Patrick Colby. Marie is also survived by her brother, Robert Longchamps and his wife Maryann, her sister, Marlene Locke, her brother-in-law, Larry Colby and his wife Marilee.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Ernestine (Nuttle) Morra, her brother, Richard Longchamps, her sisters; Linda Perkins and Kathleen Morra, and her sister-in-law, Judi Mafera.

Marie was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She touched the lives of those around her with her kindness, always ready with a sympathetic ear, a hug, or encouraging words. Known as the “Fashionista of the family,” Marie’s impeccable style and genuine smile were a hallmark of her personality.

Marie dedicated 32 years to Velcro Companies, where she began as a customer service representative and retired as a senior executive, having traveled extensively throughout North and South America. She was passionate about entertaining, working in her yard, shopping, and traveling, but her greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends.

Marie will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the indelible mark she left on those who knew and loved her.  She will be forever missed.

Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 PM at Durning, Bykowski & Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester Street, Manchester. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 PM.
