Richard Radliński, 80, of Manchester, died peacefully on August 13, surrounded by his loving family, both near and far. Richard was born on February 2, 1941 in Zamość, Poland. He is the son of the late Leon and Stanisława (Cybula) Radliński.
He attended technical college in Poland and served in the Polish Navy from 1962 until 1965. Richard came to the United States in 1980 with only one suitcase, after his parents urged him to “Go West” in search of a better life. He brought his trade of being a skilled machinist with him and took pride in the specialized projects saved just for him. He loved his work as a machinist and most recently worked for Granite State Manufacturing for many years until he retired in 2017.
A hardworking father and man who liked working with his hands, he built a special home that his children grew up in. Richard loved spending time with his family who brought him endless pride and joy. He especially loved precious moments with his grandchildren, all who adored their Dziadziu. One of Richard’s most treasured pastimes was fishing with his son, Daniel. He also loved hunting, walking in the woods, going to the beach, eating ice cream at the lake, mushroom picking, gardening, playing bingo and taking day trips with his family, often saying “If you go, I go”. Richard was a faithful Catholic who enjoyed attending mass at St. Hedwig Parish. He appreciated being part of St. Hedwig’s Polish community since he came to the US and was so proud of his Polish heritage. If asked where he was from, he would answer “Poland” in his strong Polish accent and say, “Proud to be.” His voice will be forever missed.
Richard is predeceased by his parents, a sister, Miłka and her husband Heniek, two brothers, Stefan and Lutek and his good friend Walter Salamon.
Richard is survived by his four children, daughter Renata Zwolan and her husband, Krzysztof, of Zamość, Poland, son Daniel Radlinski of Manchester, and daughters Valerie Tetrault and her husband, Douglas, of Manchester, and Kristen Smithski and her husband, Loren, of Allenstown; six grandchildren, Łukasz Zwolan and wife Ania, Aleksandra Zwolan, Maciej Zwolan and wife Agata, Charlotte Tetrault, Iris Ann Smithski, and Amelia Tetrault; two great-grandchildren, Gabriela and Kajetan Zwolan; a sister, Jadwiga Socha, of Zamość, Poland; his former wife and friend, Mary Radlinski, of Manchester, and many other family and friends. He is deeply missed, and his memory is held dear by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He built a remarkable life and family.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23 Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
