Rita Haskins

Rita Haskins, 76, of Manchester, NH, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home. Born in Berlin, NH, on February 6, 1949, she was the daughter of Omer and Elizabeth (Bissonette) Adams. Rita graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1967 and later from the University of New Hampshire. She relocated to Manchester, where she married the love of her life, Michael Haskins, on May 22, 1976.

Rita dedicated many years to helping others and volunteering wherever needed. She spent many happy hours with the Ladies Guild and the Marie Rivier Association. She found joy in cooking and worked for St. Casimir’s School, the Sisters of Holy Cross, and the Sisters of Presentation of Mary. Her many homemade recipes, cherished by those who knew her, will be dearly missed.

Rita is survived by her two sons, Sam Haskins of Manchester, and Joe Haskins with his wife Carole of Penacook, NH, her grandchildren: Ethan, Brianna, Jazmine, Arabelle, and Freddie as well as her great granddaughter Brynnlei. She is also survived by her brother Roland Adams, her sister Pauline Tibbetts with her husband Mozes, all of Berlin, NH, along with her brother-in-law James Haskins, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rita was predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband, Michael.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Durning, Bykowski & Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester Street, Manchester. A Funeral Mass will take place Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 10:00am at St Hedwig Parish, 147 Walnut St, Manchester.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Rita’s name to one of the many charitable organizations she was so dedicated to serving during her life.
