Robert A. Bowers, 73, of Manchester, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at CMC Hospital. He was born on September 26, 1950 in Manchester, NH and was the son to Ruth Howe and Harold Bowers.
Bob worked for the City of Manchester for 30+ years before retiring. Bob soon realized he wanted to get back to work and do something he enjoyed. When he started working for Chalifour’s Flowers it was apparent that Bob loved what he didand the customers loved him too. Bob and his infectious smile and kind soul worked for Chalifour’s spreading smiles for the next 20 years until fully retiring to spend time with the people he loved most, his family.
If you were fortunate to know Bob you know how he had the best hugs! You knew just how much he loved you when you received one of those! He loved nothing more than being around his family. A house filled with chatter and his grandkids running around laughing filled his heart. His grandkids were the light of his life and he was the light of theirs. Any chance to get outside with them, sit by the pool, or hang out with them outside during family gatherings, he took! Spending hours sitting on the beach with his wife who he adored, coming home with sun kissed skin and a family cookout for dinner, was his favorite summer past time. Her surprising him with lobsters didn’t hurt either!
His son’s will always remember him for his patience, guidance, unwavering and unconditional love for them that knew no limits. Bob and his boys shared a love of sports, baseball in particular. Bob spent years coaching Manchester Central Little League mentoring young athletes. He took pride in not only instilling the skills of the game but also teaching the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and perseverance. His professional sportsknowledge was impressive with the ability to rattle off statistics at the drop of a hat!
Bob is survived by his wife of 24 years, Diane Armour Bowers, his son Randy Johnson and his fiancé, Missy Fellows, his sonFrank Johnson and his wife Jina, his sister Sandy Bowers, his brother James Bowers, all of Manchester and his brother William Bowers and his wife Charlotte of Florida.
