Romuald J. “Junior” Grandmaison, 91, of Bedford NH, formally of Manchester NH, died on December 17, 2022, at the Bedford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a period of failing health. Junior was born in Pembroke, NH on August 29, 1931, the son of Romuald Grandmaison and Leona (Desmerais) Grandmaison.
Junior served his country in the United States Army and worked for many years at J. F. McElwain
Shoe Company. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Yvette, walking and being outdoors. He was a devout catholic and a member of the Catholic War Veterans.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Normand Grandmaison of Belmont NH, his sisters; Denise Baker of Kentucky, and Helen Major of Manchester NH, his sister- in- law Claire Grandmaison of Bedford NH, his nephew Robert Corbeil of Manchester NH, and his nieces; Pauline Carrier of Conway SC, and Paula Berry of Georgetown SC, as well as many other nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by his brother, Leo Grandmaison and his sister, Madeline Grandmaison.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 23rd, 2022 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Durning, Bykowski & Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester Street, Manchester, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Chapel, 145 Lowell Street, Manchester, at 11:00 am. Burial will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Junior’s name to Manchester Animal Shelter, 490 Dunbarton Road, Manchester, NH 03102.
