Theresa Velosky

April 4, 1934 — December 1, 2021

Theresa (Terry) H. ( Menczywor ) Velosky , 87, passed away on Dec. 1, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.  She was born April 4, 1934 to John & Helen ( Babicz ) Menczywor .  She was the wife of John A. Velosky who passed away on May 6, 2007.  Terry was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, class of 1951 and Hesser College in 1953 .  She enjoyed her working career as a Secretary at P. B. Mutrie Transportation and subsequently Bank of NH (now TD Bank) in the Accounting Department from where she later retired.  Terry was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan – never missing a game.  Some of her hobbies were swimming, gardening, knitting, crocheting and sewing – her family being the recipients of such beautifully crafted items we all treasure to this day.  She had an affinity for the ocean, so visits to Jenness Beach were made as often as possible with her best friend and loving companion, Rudy D emers, who also taught her to play cribbage.  She had an amazing passion for cooking, therefore took pleasure in entertaining her family and friends at every possible opportunity and holiday.  She enjoyed visiting her daughter, Diane and son-in-law John; and family in Canada and treasured visits from her cherished grandson, John Matthew Tanguay , his wife, Chanda and her great grandchildren, Caelyn and Jacob.

She is survived by her son, John J. Velosky (MaryAnn) of Manchester, daughter, Diane A. Tanguay (John) of Ontario, Canada, 3 g r andchildren, 4 great - grand children, nieces and nephews.

A parting wish – she would like for everyone to just stop and take a minute to call or stop by to visit their elderly neighbor or old friend and ask if there is anything they can do for them such as a ride to church, pick up a few groceries or just provide a short visit.  She was extremely grateful for her friends and neighbors that took the time to do just that for her.

Memorial donations may be made to Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St., Manchester, NH  03104, or Dana Farber Cancer Center .

Services:  Per her wishes (preplanned with her late husband), there are no calling hours and funeral services are private.  The Durning , Bykowski & Young Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
