With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tina Marie Farias, who left this world at the age of 67 at Catholic Medical Center. After years of battling heart and lung disease with strength and grace, Tina’s fight came to a peaceful end—but her love, laughter, and unwavering spirit live on in all of us who were blessed to know her.
Born in Goffstown, New Hampshire in 1958, Tina was a bright, fierce, and nurturing soul from the very beginning. She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth McKinstrie and Guy Kendall, whom she now joins in eternal rest.
Tina’s heart beat strongest for her family. She leaves behind her partner, Robbie of Plymouth, NH, who stood faithfully by her side through this all. She was the proud and devoted mother of two daughters, Leona Farrar and Elizabeth Chavira, both of Manchester, NH—her greatest joys and strongest legacies.
Her love extended even further to her twelve grandchildren: Orlando Jr. of Manchester, Christina of Texas, Christian and Cassandra of Bedford, Alexander of Florida, Terrance, Antwan, Rebeca, Nelson, Madison—all of Manchester—Jayden of Maine, and Jovani of Plymouth. She adored each of them and took great pride in their accomplishments, their smiles, and the new generations they’ve brought into the world. She was blessed with eleven great-grandchildren, with two more on the way—new lights she looked forward to with hope and tenderness.
Tina was the glue of a large and loving family. She is survived by her sisters, Melody and Brenda of Manchester; and her brothers, Ken and Rick of Manchester, and Conrad of Maine. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who cherished her deeply—none more than her lifelong best friend from childhood, Donna Armstrong, who remained by her side across the decades, through every storm and celebration.
Tina spent her life lifting others up. She worked tirelessly in shelters for victims of domestic violence and later served as a social worker for the City of Manchester, dedicating decades of her life to the vulnerable, the voiceless, and those who needed someone to believe in them. Her compassion knew no boundaries.
But Tina was not just a caregiver—she was a firecracker, full of laughter, love, and life. She found peace in camping under the stars, freedom on the back of a motorcycle, and joy in every minute spent with her children and grandchildren. She had a soft spot for monkeys and a touching fondness for crying clowns—symbols of the depth of feeling she carried inside.
Tina was one of a kind. She was tough when she needed to be, soft when it mattered most, and fiercely loyal to those she loved. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts, but her memory fills us with warmth, pride, and the strength to carry on.
She will be forever missed. She will be forever loved.
Family and friends are invited to attend Tina’s viewing on Wednesday, June 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Durning, Bykowski & Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester Street, Manchester, NH. This will be an open casket service—please plan accordingly for young children and sensitive individuals.
Her burial will take place the following day, Thursday, June 26, at 11:00 AM at Last Rest Cemetery, 7 Hillside Terrace, Merrimack, NH.
Tina’s favorite color was purple. If you're unsure what to wear or what flowers to send, purple is a beautiful way to honor her memory and spirit.
